CURE in Zambia
The picture above is of CURE in Zambia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Zambia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Silvia. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Silvia. When you give a gift through Silvia's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Zambia. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Silvia. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

At the time of Silvia's birth it came as a surprise to her family, for she turned out to be different from the rest of her four siblings. Her condition was devastating owing to the many myths that surround disability at birth. To make matter even more challenging, different treatment remedies were prescribed from the people in their community, among them was continuous warm compresses of the foot. Delphista adhered to this advise but it proved futile as Silvia's foot kept on bending to the outside as she was growing older. “I used to compress the leg with warm water everyday because I was advised by some people in the community that the leg will get straight over time,” Delphista, Silvia's mother tells us.
One of the saddest realities of disability in children is that it comes as a huge barrier and reduces the chances of a child getting an education because of various reasons and Silvia is no exception to this unfortunate reality. “She had started going to pre school but stopped due to the distance, she couldn’t continue walking and no one was managing to be taking her to and from school everyday,” reported Delphista.
After trying the home remedies which did not the work, it was the end for Silvia and chances of her getting healed faded away. It turned into what seemed like a hopeless situation for her and the family. Luckily, there is a man in their community who noticed her and knew about the types of treatments offered at CURE Zambia. He had brought his son who had a disability but was healed after receiving treatment from CURE Zambia. He approached Delphista and told her that her daughter's condition could be treated at CURE Zambia. That’s how they embarked on their journey to CURE for treatment. Please join us in praying for Silvia's healing and for restored hope to her family!
