"I want to be a nurse after I'm done with school," Drogine tells us.

Drogine is a very confident girl who loves doing math in school. She is warm to people around her and always has a smile to share. Though she tells her story with a big smile on her face, Drogine has been through a lot of physical pain and humiliation. When she was a young girl, she started experiencing pain in her pelvis. Her parents took her to a hospital in their area where they were told that both of Drogine's legs are not positioned well and they were not fitting into her hip sockets as they should. Drogine cannot lift her legs up and down like other children her age and she can not run around. She faces a lot of difficulties just doing simple activities.

The hospital in her area decided to send her to CURE because they did not have the capacity to perform the operation that she needs. Drogine loves laughing and smiling and she giggles every time she speaks. Drogine wants to get better so she can go back to school, but the thought of the operating theater scares her and wipes the smile off her sweet face, but only for a little while. Please join us in praying for Drogine's healing and that while she is here, that she would be encouraged!

Drogine came in for her review today. She was smiling a lot, had so much confidence, and she is on the right path towards recovery. We have been told that the deformity might not fully go away, but she is accepting her situation with grace. We love seeing her so happy, and we believe that she is going back home with a little more happiness. Photo of Drogine

Drogine is doing really well post surgery and she is smiling again. Her hip hurts a little, but that has not wiped the smile off her face. It is always so inspiring seeing young girls smile through the pain. With Jesus in the boat, you can always smile at the storm! Photo of Drogine

Drogine is not doing too well today. Her operation went smoothly but it was extremely painful and she has spent the day in pain. Please pray for her so she can see healing through the pain and be able to endure it. Photo of Drogine

It is Drogine's first day in our ward and she has been calm and relaxed. She is spending her afternoon hanging out with the kids next to her bed. Drogine is happy to be getting treatment but she says she is scared about being put under anesthesia. Please be praying for her as she will be having surgery sometime this week! Photo of Drogine
