What am I giving to?

CURE in Uganda

The picture above is of CURE in Uganda. Everyone who serves with CURE in Uganda, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Prayers. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Prayers. When you give a gift through Prayers's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Uganda. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Prayers. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

When Prayers was born with a swelling on her back, the hospital told Prossy, her mother, there was nothing they could do and referred her to CURE Uganda for treatment.

"When I came to CURE, I was warmly welcomed, and I am really happy with how they are handling me," Prossy affirmed with a subtle smile.

Prayers has spina bifida, a condition where the spine fails to close properly, causing tissues to stick out in a sacklike swelling. Spina bifida may lead to other complications such as hydrocephalus and problems with the legs. Unfortunately, Prayers is dealing with leg issues as well.

"God has given me this child, not as a curse but a blessing, and I accept it!" Prossy told us.

Please welcome Prayers and her mom to the CURE family. They will love to hear your encouraging words and would appreciate your prayers as they start this healing journey.

"You are strong, just like "Golola" (Uganda's popular kickboxer). You are beautiful my sweet baby," Prossy told Prayers who was just innocently smiling. "I am feeding her really well and want her to grow big so that she is worked on," Prossy added. Prossy is taking good care of Prayers to prepare her for surgery. Please send Prossy some encouraging messages as she waits for the o.k. from doctors that Prayers is ready for surgery. Photo of Prayers

Our medical officer is taking Prayers' vitals as Prossy looks on. Prayers needs to gain more weight before she can have surgery. "I feed her almost after every minute. I want her to gain more weight soon enough," Prossy told us. Please pray for Prayers to gain the needed weight, and for Prossy's peace during the waiting. Photo of Prayers
