What am I giving to?

CURE in Uganda

The picture above is of CURE in Uganda. Everyone who serves with CURE in Uganda, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Noela. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Noela. When you give a gift through Noela's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Uganda. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Noela. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Noela's Story

"Noela would always cry, and I didn't know what was wrong - until one day, I touched her head and it was quite tender to the touch," Susan told us.

Susan immediately sought medical attention, and the doctor told her that Noela's condition needed prompt treatment and referred her to CURE Uganda.
She had just started to study nursing when the pandemic hit and disrupted her studies. She got pregnant during the break, and Noela's father was not around to help. Her parents were unhappy about the whole situation but chose to protect and support her. "There was no money. So, we had to use the savings we had for my school to bring my Noela to the hospital," Susan explained.

Noela has hydrocephalus, a birth defect where the brain produces excessive fluid. It can be treated through surgery, and we are glad that Noela has been brought to CURE Uganda for life-saving treatment.

"Now that I am here, I have hope and I believe she will be fine."- Susan concluded.

Please join us in prayer for God's healing and encouragement during her healing journey.

Little Noela is finally stable enough and will be moved from the ICU to the main ward for her full recovery. "We slept and woke up well," Susan told us while nursing Noela. The dent you see on her head is a good sign that her brain is no longer under pressure and that a lot of the excess water around her brain has been drained. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Please keep them coming! Photo of Noela

"My heart was racing throughout the time she was in the operation room," Susan told us with a deep sigh. "I am really happy that she made it out of that room as she is fine." Noela had a successful surgery today and has been taken to the ICU where she will closely be monitored before she is taken to the main ward for her full recovery. Photo of Noela
