CURE in Uganda

The picture above is of CURE in Uganda. Everyone who serves with CURE in Uganda, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Naula. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Naula. When you give a gift through Naula's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Uganda. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Naula. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Naula's Story

"When I gave birth to Naula, I was so happy but quickly I got disappointed when I saw her back." Sania paused, "I asked, God, why me?" she lamented. Little Naula has spina bifida, a birth defect where part of the baby's spinal cord sticks out her back in a fluid filled sack. It's a dangerous condition which can result in life-long complications or even death if not treated. Thankfully, a doctor from the hospital where Naula was born calmed Sania down and told her that her child's condition was treatable. He told her about CURE Uganda and referred her here immediately. "On my way to CURE, I was so broken. But when I came, I was warmly welcomed and I got to see hope. I also found other children's conditions were worse," Sania said. "Now that I am here, I have hope and I believe everything will be fine" she concluded with a smile.

Naula was being checked during the ward rounds. "She is doing well." we heard one of the doctors say. "I am so happy for what God has done. The doctor said we may be discharged soon." Sania spoke with an excited voice. For the next few days though, Nuala will be closely monitored to avoid any complications. Continue to pray that her recovery will continue smoothly! Photo of Naula

Praise God! Naula's surgery was successful. It was longer than expected and she was taken to the ICU for close monitoring after it was over. This is normal for small babies after big surgeries. She'll be taken back to the ward soon. "I am so happy to have my daughter back. I was so scared for her but thank God she is back safe," Saina spoke and took a deep sigh of relief. "Please pray for and encourage these two as they continue this healing journey! Photo of Naula

Dr Humphry was assisted by Benson to take care of little Naula's spina bifida! Before the surgery, they prayed, putting baby Naula and the whole session in God's hand. "I too am praying for my daughter. I want to see her back and it to be well," Sania spoke in a low voice as she waited for her daughter back in the ward. Please join us in praying and encouraging Sania as little Naula begins her healing journey! Photo of Naula

At just a few days old, little Naula is here at CURE Uganda to get her spina bifida taken care of. It's a scary condition, but we are thankful Naula and her mom Sania have made it here to us! Photo of Naula
