“On the 26th October 2016, I gave birth to my third child Rose in Southern Uganda. Due to her condition, the doctors referred me to Mulago Hospital so I had to travel to Kampala. It’s very unfortunate that when I returned at my husband’s house, he chased me out because of Rose condition claiming that he cannot give birth to a child like her and decided to take the guardianship of the older siblings of Rose. I had no other choice than going back to my parents’ house where I live with my mother. When I was able to get enough money, I took my baby to a governmental hospital where a doctor from Kampala was supposed to come and treat some kids, but he never showed up. It was with a broken heart that I took my child home because of lack of finance. Four to five months later, by God’s grace, I got some money and went to another hospital that referred me to Katalemwa Hospital (it’s a hospital that partners with CURE Hospital). As we were staying home, the swelling was growing bigger and bigger. Now that we are at CURE hospital, I have faith that the condition of my child will be changed and she will stop suffering,” said Peace, Rose's mother. Please join us in praying for Rose's healing and that Peace would experience the love of Jesus while here at CURE Uganda!

According to the doctors, Rose is doing very well apart from a slight cough which she developed, but Dr. Noah says, “there is nothing to worry about.” There is a high chance of her being discharged over the weekend because she is completing her seven day antibiotics regiment today. Thank you for your support and prayers! Photo of Rose

“I have waited so long for this day and I am grateful to God that finally it has come. What I want is that swelling off my child’s back,” said Peace. Rose went in to surgery at 11:30 a.m. where she had a successful myelomeningocele repair by Dr. Peter assisted by Dr. Phu and is now in PACU. From there, she will then be transferred to ICU. Please keep praying for a steady recovery! Photo of Rose
