“When I pray, I feel peace in my heart,” said Aisha. Prior to coming to CURE Hospital, many people around her village discouraged her. When Aisha looked at her life as a poor widow who had just lost her husband in a motor accident, she accepted her fate that Ibra would never be treated, so she just kept him at home. However, one day a lady called Mariam who was passing by her house, saw Ibra and she approached Aisha. She told Aisha that she too has a child (Zauma) with hydrocephalus and that she knew that CURE Hospital could treat Ibra too. Immediately when Aisha heard about CURE, she started saving money for transport and she has finally been able to bring Ibra. Aisha lost her husband when she was pregnant and he was the sole breadwinner of the home so now, Aisha moved to a single room where she and her three children now live. Aisha requested that her neighbor help her and keep her two older children while she is at CURE Hospital. Please join us in praying for Ibra's healing and for opportunities to minister to Aisha as well.
“They told me we are discharged home, I feel good,” said Aisha. She has noticed positive changes in her son, he is less irritable, he now feeds well and sleeps longer. In a week, Ibra will get his stitches removed and in a month we will see them when they return to the hospital. Prior to leaving, Aisha and Ibra received several get well messages. During their time at CURE, messages like those have been a big encouragement. Thank you for your prayers and support during their stay at CURE, please continue to pray for Ibra’s recovery!
Aisha is very happy that Ibra is finished with surgery and that they are moving out of the ICU to the ward. This morning, Aisha has been talking and laughing with her nurse Lisa in the ICU. With Ibra improving, Aisha’s focus is shifting to those back home and her prayer request is for God's provision to be able to meet her family's needs. Please be praying for Ibra and for Aisha.
“I am happy, grateful to God that the child is done with surgery and is feeding,” said Aisha. Ibra went into surgery today where an ETV/CPC was performed. He is now in the ICU being held by his mother. Please continue to pray for Ibra, that he will recover quickly from his operation.
“My friend Mariam says that when she returns home over the weekend, she will take over the care of my children and that has given me a lot of peace in my heart because at least Mariam understands everything that is happening to us at CURE Hospital,” said Aisha. As for Ibra, he has been scheduled for surgery next week and he is steadily recovering from the chest infection. Thank you for your prayers for him!
After serious deliberations, our doctors have decided to postpone Ibra’s surgery to next week when he has completed his antibiotics. Aisha is now very worried about her other children back at home and she is praying for God to protect them. She told us that she plans to spend the afternoon praying when Ibra takes his nap. Join us in lifting up Aisha's concerns in prayer with her and pray for extra patience for her as well, waiting is hard!
“I was hoping that Ibra would have surgery on the same day as Zauma so that I and Zauma’s mother Mariam can travel back home together,” said Aisha. Ibra had a chest infection so the anesthesia team is reviewing him today and may schedule him for tomorrow’s surgery. Aisha told us that her prayer request is for God to provide for her and her family and to heal Ibra. Join us in praying for that on her behalf!
During ward rounds, Aisha received the good news that Ibra will be going for surgery tomorrow, so during devotions, she was praying for the surgery to be successful. She has spent her day mostly in bed with Ibra and she also did her laundry. We pray that tomorrow’s surgery will be successful.
Last week, Aisha gave her life to Christ during the daily devotions in the ward. She says that she is now “learning how to pray like a Christian" and when she prays, she feels good. She managed to call home and spoke to one of her children, and was encouraged to find that they are doing well. Our doctors are preparing Ibra for surgery, please join us in praying for him!
