“My first child is healthy so I will do what it takes for Praise to be healthy too. I am a single mother with two children and her sickness has made life very difficult and miserable for us, but I have hope that she will be healed,” said Nubuat. "One month after birth her head started to increase in size so her parents took her to a small clinic but they didn’t diagnose her with hydrocephalus at that time, they just treated some other sickness but the next doctor that I saw referred her to CURE for treatment of hydrocephalus." Praise’s father lives in another district and he is not very supportive towards Nubuat and the kids so Nubuat’s prayer is for Praise to get healed so that she can find work to do, but for now, she and the kids are living with her parents. Please join us in praying for this family and for Praise's healing!
Praise was discharged on Saturday! We will see them again at a follow up clinic in Kampala at the end of September. Please continue to pray for Praise to recover well from her operation.
“Me - I love Jesus, I’m very happy, He heals my baby. I am having faith this fever will go. The head was big, now small, she has gained energy. She was not breastfeeding, but now she is breastfeeding. She was vomiting, that stopped, only that temperature. She was very weak when we came here, now you can see her sitting and playing,” said Nubuat. Praise is still having fevers so her doctors didn’t feel comfortable sending her home today, but they are hopeful that Praise will go home tomorrow. This morning Nubuat and Praise joined the nurse staff at their morning devotion. “I say 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus', she says, 'sus, sus, sus.' I want my daughter to grow spiritually,” said Nubuat. Please be praying that Praise’s fever will break, that they will be able to go home tomorrow and for Praise's faith to continue to grow.
“I’m going to fast every Monday for these sick babies. For us, we pray, but God is the answer for us. Yesterday night she had a high fever, I prayed and she got better,” said Nubuat. Praise joined the medical team this morning for their ward rounds and she was held by Dr. Stewart as they went through B section of the ward. This afternoon Nubuat was one of three mothers who shared during the chapel service, she spoke about Proverbs 16 and 18. “What I’m trying to say is if you have a situation, you prepare your heart, you go to the upper room and speak to God,” said Nubuat. Please join Nubuat in praying for the children at CURE.
“Praise is fine. This baby has strengthened me, I feel good. I’m happy to see my daughter,” said Nubuat. Nubuat has been reading her Bible which has encouraged her, “The blood of Jesus is enough to heal all the sick,” said Nubuat. Praise is very playful today and seems happy spending the morning playing with her mom. She has been running a fever and having diarrhea so her doctors are running blood work and urine analysis. Please be praying for Praise to continue to recover well and for them to soon return home.
“Praise is fine, has no problem, she came from the theatre when she was playing,” said Nubuat. Praise had a good night in the ICU, “she was there playing, not crying,” said Nubuat. Praise is being transferred from the ICU back to the ward. She is getting a CT- scan today and is running a fever, but other than that her doctors have no other concerns. Please be praying that Praise continues to play and recovers well.
“Pray for her that the surgery goes well,” said Nubuat. Praise went into surgery for a ventriculoscopy and ventricular catheter repositioning and we're happy to say that her operation was successful and she is now in the PACU waking up from the surgery. Please be praying for Praise to recover well.
“She has just had some convulsions,” said Nubuat. Yesterday they returned to CURE because Praise was having convulsions, Nubuat says the convulsions have stopped but they are still under observation. Praise has been doing well, crawling and reaching for things. Nubuat says, “She is a very happy girl.” Nubuat and Praise are both happy today, “I’m good, if my daughter is fine, I am also fine,” said Nubuat. “They gave me that Bible here, it has helped us so much. Prayers work!” said Nubuat.
“She is now okay,” said Nubuat. Praise and Nubuat are going home today, they were discharged this morning. Before going, they received a handful of get well messages which made Nubuat very happy. We will see them at the start of next year here at the hospital. Please keep Praise in your prayers, that she will continue to make progress.
“Praise will be okay,” said Nubuat. Praise spent the night in the ICU but is being moved to the ward today. She is feeding well and has no major concerns. Nabuat is very happy the operation is finished and is optimistic of Praise’s future. Please keep Praise in your prayers, that she will continue to improve.
This morning Praise went into surgery, her doctor placed a high pressure shunt to drain the excess CSF from the brain. The procedure went well and she will soon be moved to the ICU where her mom will get to see her and hold her. Please keep Praise in your prayers, that she will have a quick and successful recovery.
Praise and Nubuat had a quiet day today. They spent the morning resting, and this afternoon Nubuat has been reading her Bible, she is in the book of Proverbs. Praise has been playing and watching her mother read, she is fighting a cold but has no other concerns. Please keep Praise in your prayers that her upcoming operation will go well.
Praise and her mother Nubuat arrived at CURE over the weekend and have gotten settled in B section, with a bed by the window. Today a CT scan and a CSF tap was done, once those are reviewed a plan for surgery will be made. Please keep Praise in your prayers for her upcoming operation.
