“I don’t go to school, it is my brother Fred, and my sister Fiona who go to school. I will also go to school,” said Angel. Angel lives with her grandmother Margaret, who accompanied her to CURE Hospital. Angel is now three years old, she was born with spina bifida but has never gotten treatment up to now because when she was born her mother took her away from home and just returned her a year ago. When Margaret saw the condition of Angel she wanted to take her to a hospital but didn’t have the money. Fortunately, an NGO identified Angel, referred her to CURE Hospital, and even provided the transport to get here. Please join us in praying for Angel's healing!
“(I) feel happy because Angel is now okay,” said Margret. This morning they were discharged home. As the paperwork was being assembled, Angel laid in bed playing with her balloon, she tells us that her 'balloon is her friend and that she loves it.' Next Monday Angel will have her stitches removed, we will see them again at the end of the month. Please keep Angel in your prayers that she will continue to improve.
Margret said, ”she is getting better.” Angel seems a little more active today, she is still limited to her bed, but she was playing with an inflated glove and smiling today. Margret said, “she is happy.” Last night they both slept well and today Margret has been spending time with friends, and Angel has been playing and resting. Angel will be in bed until early next week and will continue antibiotics until the 9th or 13th. Please keep Angel in your prayers, that she will continue to improve.
“I am fine,” said Angel. Angel is currently resting in the ICU, she will be moved to the ward today. Her doctors have her on two antibiotics and two pain killers, and have instructed that she lay flat on her back for the next five days. Angel seems to be doing well besides fevers and tiredness. Please continue to pray for her, that she will have a full recovery and soon be back to her normal self.
Margret is praying, “I don’t feel anything, just praying to God for the operation and that she comes out okay.” This morning Angel and Margret spent the day resting in bed. Angel continues to be in pain around the wound site. She is currently in surgery for a CSF leak repair, the cause of the leak happened during her stitches removal, she was stuck with a needle. Please keep Angel in your prayers, that she will have a successful recovery.
Angel returned to CURE last night a little before 10:00. She was brought from home because of fevers and swelling at the wound site. There has been swelling at the wound site for the last two days after her stitches were removed. Angel says she feels a lot of pain on her back, so a pressure dressing has been placed and she has been started on antibiotics which could last between seven and ten days. Today she spent most of the day laying in bed and an IV has been places to administer the drugs. Please keep her in your prayers!
Angel and her grandmother Margret went home over the weekend! We will see them at the next follow up clinic in the capital which will take place at the end of the month. Next week, Angel will get her stitches removed and before leaving CURE, she was prescribed pain medication if there is pain or discomfort at the wound site. Please keep Angel in your prayers, that she will improve well.
“Angel cried a lot in the night, the wound from yesterday’s surgery is paining her and everything that she eats is vomited,” said her grandmother Margaret. It is the side effect of the drugs that are making Angel nauseated, however she will be fine. Please keep her in your prayers, that she will get some much needed rest and continue to make progress!
"They (grandma) told me to wait here, but I am hungry," said Angel when we asked her if she knows about today's surgery. She isn't worried about the procedure that she will be going in for. Her grandmother is fine and praying for her. We hope for the best, please join us in praying!
“I had milk and bread for breakfast, now I am satisfied,” said Angel. Angel is still awaiting surgery. Today she spent some time with her grandmother in the hospital gardens, then in the ward. Please keep praying for her!
“I have peace now that I am in this hospital because I know that after waiting three years, Angel will finally receive treatment,” said Margaret. This morning the doctors told Margaret that Angel will have surgery either this week or next week. Please keep her in your prayers.
