“Kevin is a happy and well behaved child,” says Beatrice. Kevin was born normal but at four months her legs became paralyzed. Beatrice took her to the nearest health center but they didn’t know what had caused the condition. The doctors there told her about CURE Hospital and referred her to us for further investigations. Our doctors have examined her and are planning to do a scan of her spine to pinpoint the problem. "Kevin has two siblings Andrew and Khasifa but she is closest to Khasifa," says Beatrice. Beatrice and her husband Robbert converted to Christianity about six years ago and they fellowship at their local church. Beatrice feels bad because her daughter Kevin cannot walk. She and Robbert agreed to bring Kevin to CURE Hospital and they even sold off three of their chickens to get transport money to make it here. Please join us in praying for Kevin's healing!

We attempted to contact Beatrice & Kevin, but unfortunately there was no answer. They were supposed to arrive at the National Referral Hospital today, where Kevin will get treatment for her teratoma, which is on the lower part of her back. We're going to keep trying to touch base with them and will let you know what we hear!

Kevin arrived at CURE last evening, because they were unable to see the pediatrician at the hospital that she was referred to. So we have referred to a pediatric surgeon at the National Referral Hospital, and Kevin has a rare tumor called a teratoma. We'll keep in touch with Beatrice and let you know what happens at that hospital. Photo of Kevin

Kevin was discharged at the start of the weekend, because then they can be home instead of here while waiting for a radiologist to look over Kevin’s scans. We were anticipating hearing from the radiologist today, however, he has yet to call. Once Kevin’s doctors get the radiologist's opinion, they will contact Beatrice and go from there. Please pray that Kevin will get treated soon! Photo of Kevin

Today, nurse Hellen took Beatrice and Kevin to the Mbale Hospital to see a pediatrician to get an outside opinion on Kevin’s condition. Unfortunately they were unable to see the doctor, because they were shorthanded. They will continue to seek an outside opinion, please continue to pray for Kevin as her doctors work on diagnosing her and making a plan for her surgery. Photo of Kevin

Today Kevin had an X-Ray and a Myelogram done to check for spinal damage. The Myelogram is performed by doing a lumbar puncture and adding contrast dye, then performing a CT scan to see the flow of the dye. The doctors can then determine any spinal canal problems. Kevin’s doctors are consulting an outside doctor and we should hear from them tomorrow. Please keep Kevin in your prayers. Photo of Kevin

Today, Kevin is going in for a CT scan as the doctors continue with their investigations. Beatrice says they will later walk around the hospital gardens and pick up their laundry. Please pray for Kevin and Beatrice during their stay here with us.
