What am I giving to?

CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Llyder. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Llyder. When you give a gift through Llyder's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Llyder. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I am excited to finally undergo surgery so I can improve my speech and communicate better,” Llyder tells us.

Llyder is a sixteen year old boy who may seem shy at first but once you get him talking, he is very friendly! In case you’re wondering where he got his unique name from, it’s a combination of his parents’ names Alexander Sr. and Sally!

Just like his older brother Alexander Jr., Llyder was born with a cleft lip and palate, a hereditary condition they got from their mom who was also born with a cleft lip. Llyder had his lip repaired when he was just four years old but the family didn’t have the money to get his palate repaired. Because of his condition, he gets bullied sometimes. “Kids would call him “bungi” but I would always tell him to disregard their insults,” Alexander Sr. tells us.

In spite of this, Llyder plays it cool and just laughs off his bullies since he is surrounded with family and friends who love and support him! “I love to play basketball together with my friends John Lloyd and Adrian and my favorite player is Kyrie Irving!” he tells us proudly.

Llyder, together with Alexander Jr., finally found a chance at healing when they learned about Tebow CURE through one of our partner organizations, Seeds of Dignity. “If not for Tebow CURE, we wouldn’t be able to provide our sons the surgery they need for healing,” Alexander Sr. tells us. Llyder dreams of becoming a cop someday. Although this aspiration of his might take time to become a reality, his long-time dream for healing is now made possible thanks to your support and partnership!

We almost didn’t recognize Llyder since he's gone and dyed his hair a bit blonde! He is back for a visit in the OR for a quick procedure to trim the excess flaps on his palate in order to keep it from getting in the way of his mouth. He stayed for a little bit more in the recovery room since he was still groggy from being sedated. Not long after, he already went home! Just a quick in and out and he will be back again in two months! Photo of Llyder

Llyder read all of your Get Well messages just before he went home. It was a good boost of encouragement knowing that people are praying for him as he continues to heal. He had a hard time saying it in words, but Llyder was filled with gratitude for the opportunity to have his cleft palate repaired. Thank you for your support! Photo of Llyder

Llyder went to the OR first before Alexander Jr. He was as ready as he could be and didn’t even flinch as Nurse Dawn inserted an IV line to prep him for the procedure. While the medical team worked on repairing his palate, Patient Ministry Coordinator Mary Ann also took the time to minister to Alexander Sr. and shared the gift of hope and healing found in Jesus Christ. The surgery turned out successful and Llyder is now back in the ward resting! Thank you for your prayers! Photo of Llyder

Llyder and his brother Alexander Jr. first came to Tebow CURE last week for their initial assessment. Little do they know, they would be both admitted the week after! To top it all off, Llyder is celebrating his 16th birthday with us on his admission day! Please be praying that Llyder will experience God’s peace and comfort as he waits for his surgery!
