What am I giving to?

CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Aivhan. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Aivhan. When you give a gift through Aivhan's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Aivhan. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I want to be treated so I can visit America and go sightseeing! I also want to be a soldier someday” says Aivhan, seven years young yet already filled with big dreams and ambitions!

Aivhan is the second of Maris and Roques’ four children. Out of the four, two of the older brothers have clubfoot. “I was surprised when my firstborn Jake was born with clubbed feet. And then came my second son, Aivhan, and he has the same condition. I had a lot of questions as to why they were born that way. Some people told me I might have been craving for crabs while I was pregnant and it affected the appearance of my babies. I even thought to myself that this might be God’s punishment for my sins,” Maris admits to us. Aivhan’s family did not seek any medical help since it is not the norm in their community and took the matter in their hands instead. “I would massage their feet everyday and rub my saliva on it until they were toddlers for the hopes that it will help correct their feet. Aivhan’s foot was almost corrected, but then it relapsed when he started walking,” Maris recounts.

Because of his clubfoot, Aivhan gets picked on and called names. “My classmates call me “hiwi” (deformed) and “kiang” (lame). Sometimes I fight back,” Aivhan tell us. But despite his condition, Aivhan doesn’t let it keep him down! “Aivhan is a diligent student. He does his homework right away and he loves to study. He is also a very sweet boy,” Maris brags.

Thankfully, Aivhan together with his older brother Jake were referred to Tebow CURE by our partner organization, International Care Ministries. “I have prayed for so long that God would send us people to help us.” Maris tells us with tears of joy and hope. It is a gift to have them here and we cannot wait to see God’s healing power at work in the life of Aivhan!

Aivhan is finally being discharged today! Before saying goodbye, Child Mentor Patricia shared the story of the paralytic man forgiven and healed by Jesus. Aivhan gladly listened and expressed his faith by praying to Jesus for healing and forgiveness along with brother Jake and Maris! Afterwards, Jake read Aivhan your get-well messages of encouragement and Aivhan says “thank you!” We will see him again in six weeks for his follow-up appointment! Photo of Aivhan

Doctor Jake, err, Jun made sure to prep Aivhan before going down to the OR this morning for his surgery. Dr. Jun and Jake together marked Aivhan’s surgery site with a marker to ensure that the medical team will be operating on the correct leg! Doctor Jun and Doctor Ulrike did a tendon lengthening and tendon transfer procedure to correct Aivhan’s clubfoot. The surgery was a quick one and Aivhan was back to his room before he knew it! We celebrate with Aivhan and Maris for the answer to their prayers! Thank you as well for praying! Photo of Aivhan

Help us welcome our new buddies, Aivhan and his brother Jake! They came all the way from a city a long way away from Tebow CURE. Aivhan originally came to us in January when he started his weekly castings. After 2 months and multiple cast changes, Aivhan has finally been admitted and is ready to go down the OR tomorrow! He spent his time hanging out with Jake who is also having his surgery in a few weeks. Please pray that everything will go well in Aivhan’s surgery! Photo of Aivhan
