CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Christian. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Christian. When you give a gift through Christian's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Christian. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“When I grow up, I want to become a cop and keep the bad guys in jail!” Christian tells us.

Christian is a friendly, playful seven year old with big dreams for himself! He is currently in second grade and “playing and writing” is what keeps him busy in school! Christian’s idea of fun is playing tag with his friends. “Eliezer, Yunghe, and Jarrel are my playmates!” he shares.

Christian had an accident while playing 2 years ago. “One of his friends pushed him, he lost his balance, and he fell and hit his elbow. His arm was fractured,” Dande, Christian’s dad, told us. Due to their lack of finances for hospitalization, they went to a traditional therapist to realign Christian’s bones back into place. But as time went on, Christian was not getting any better and his fracture got worse. Christian was now given a nick-name by his classmates and friends, “Dodong Singkaw” (Boy with a Broken Arm). Aside from the bullying he experienced due to his condition, he also had limited movement and mobility in his arm, restricting him from lifting heavy objects.

Thankfully, our medical team met Christian during one of our mobile clinics. Dande shared his hopes and dreams for Chrisitan with us, “I want my son to be finally able to undergo surgery so he can finish his studies and get a good job in the future without his disability getting in the way.” Please pray for Christian as he starts his healing journey!

It was a bittersweet moment with Christian at clinic today! We are glad that his bones have healed correctly and he has regained mobility in his arm but sad that we will no longer see him on a regular basis as he is finished with his follow up appointments! Before saying goodbye, he promised that he will visit us again when he gets older! Dande and Christian left the hospital grateful for healing that was made possible through your support and prayers! Christian is back after the holidays sporting his new watch that he received as a Christmas present along with a sweet smile! But this smile was soon replaced by tears as Nurse Francis removed Christian's pins. We admired him for braving the process and once his pins were removed successfully, he was back to smiling again and proudly told that that “it was not painful!” Now that the worst part is over, Christian will proceed to putting his arm to use again! We will see him again in six weeks to check on his progress! Photo of Christian

Christian was smiling when we visited him in the ward! Aside from hearing the good news that he is cleared to head home, he also got to hear the good news about Jesus’ power to heal and forgive sins! Christian responded in faith by receiving the gift of forgiveness that Christ offers him. Please pray for Christian that he will continually grow in faith as he continues in his healing journey! We will see him again next year! Photo of Christian

Christian finally had the surgery that he has anticipated! Doctor Jun began the procedure by making an incision on Christian’s elbow and repositioned the bone fragments into their normal alignment. Afterwards, the medical team used some pins to hold the bones in its place to allow it to grow in the correct position. What took Christian and his family years of waiting was finally done in one hour! Dande was relieved and grateful seeing his son in the recovery room. Thank you for praying! Photo of Christian

Christian is finally here at Tebow CURE! Christian felt the festive mood as he was welcomed with Christmas-filled decor in the ward during admission! As much as he is excited to celebrate Christmas, he is also excited to experience Christ’s healing through his surgery! Please lift him up in your prayers as he goes down the operating room tomorrow!
