CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Lucille. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Lucille. When you give a gift through Lucille's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Lucille. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“When I grow up, I want to become a police officer, so I can fight the bad guys!” Lucille tells us.

Lucille is a food lover and looks forward to eat her vegetables daily—“especially when it’s cooked by my mom!” she adds. With this much sass, we can already tell that Lucille has much courage within her! “She’s the youngest of six kids. Two of my kids have cleft lip and palate—Lucille and Ronil. Though they get bullied, no one can really come close to bully Lucille. She will get to them first before they can get her!” says Lucille’s mom, Ligaya.

Even though she defends herself from her bullies, Lucille’s friendly demeanor attracts a lot of friends whom she hangs out with! In fact, “she’s currently in 3rd grade and does well in school,” says Ligaya. However, being a police officer is not the only thing that Lucille hopes for. One day, she would like to have cleft lip and palate surgeries “so she can finish school and follow her dreams!”

Though having a cleft lip and palate hasn’t stopped Lucille from doing all her childhood activities, God heard her heart’s desire to have surgery. Thankfully, our partners from the Free to Smile Foundation are here to help us make that happen! It’s truly a privilege to be a part of what God is doing here at Tebow CURE and we can’t thank you enough for supporting us and allowing us to do this!

Look who’s happy to be back here at Tebow CURE Hospital! Lucille gave us the sweetest smile while being seen by Doctor Shelley and was told that her lip is looking really good! She will be back again in February for a check-up and to schedule her palate surgery. Thank you to the Free to Smile Foundation and everyone that prayed for her so she could have this beautiful smile! Photo of Lucille

“Lucille wanted to wash her face right after the surgery so she could see her stitched up lips without the post-op gunk!” Gay told us. She is Lucille’s teacher who accompanied and assisted them during their stay at Tebow CURE. Good thing, Nurse Tzaddi visited Lucille and cleaned up Lucille’s stitches and applied some antibacterial ointment to help it heal faster. Lucille was pleased to see her reflection on the mirror with her “new” lip! She was cleared for discharge and she will be back next week for a check-up! Photo of Lucille

Our sweet Lucille was the last one to go down the OR which means she wouldn’t be able to eat any meals to avoid complications during her procedure. Despite not being able to eat food to fuel up her body, she was fed some spiritual food as our friends from the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association spent some time with her and gave her a comic book that talks about the good news that Christ offers to her which is spiritual healing. She was prayed for before she was wheeled down to the OR and 2 hours later, she was back with her upper lip stitched up successfully! We thank our friends from the Free to Smile Foundation and everyone of you who prayed for her for making this possible! Photo of Lucille

We met Lucille at a mobile clinic close to her hometown. She was coloring on a Bible story that represented Jesus hanging out with little kids. When she was done, we prayed and asked Jesus to come into her heart as she hoped to be healed! Truly, God hears the prayers of the little ones! Lucille is now admitted at Tebow CURE and in line to have surgery tomorrow! Photo of Lucille
