CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Kenth. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Kenth. When you give a gift through Kenth's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Kenth. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“When I grow up, I want to become a police officer. This is why I want to be healed!” Kenth tells us.

Kenth is friendly and easily warms up to people. Though he loves being in second grade, he tells us a lot more things that he likes to do other than being in school. “I like to play outside with my friends and play on the computer that has a remote control,” adds Kenth. But there’s one thing that Kenth naturally does that makes his family happy— “Kenth loves to smile!” shares his mom, Myrna.

“Kenth is a happy boy, which is why we want to do our best to help him get the healing that he needs. Kenth fell and dislocated his elbow while playing in the rafters of an old shed. At first, we brought him to a massage therapist who couldn't do what was needed. Then we sought out a local doctor’s help who put us on a long long waiting list for surgery. As we waited to be called in for a schedule, we kept on hunting for options that could help Kenth soon, so that he won’t have to go through bullying for his condition. It was in this time we ran into Tebow CURE’s online page that eventually led us to your free clinic,” Myrna tells us.

Through your partnership, we are able to provide a life-changing surgery for Kenth’s arm, so he can carry out the activities of daily living that he’s not able to do since he dislocated his elbow. With your help, Kenth will gain his independence once again to change his clothes, go to the bathroom and write well in school!

Kenth had a photo of his bones taken at x-ray this morning and was pleased to see that everything is looking great two months after surgery. What he needs to do is to practice some more stretching exercises to improve his arm’s range of motion. We thank all of you for cheering Kenth on throughout his whole treatment! This would have not been possible without your prayers and partnership! Photo of Kenth

Kenth has had a good day today! He heard the news from Doctor Shelley that his bones are healing well and his pins are ready to be removed! Kenth was kinda terrified at the sight of the pins protruding on his arm but Mom Myrna came to the rescue and hugged him while Nurse Francis pulled them out! Overall, the removal was easy peasy and we are proud of Kenth for not shedding even one tear! We are excited to see him again next month! Photo of Kenth

Kenth felt a little bit of discomfort after his surgery. Despite the pain he was feeling, he was reminded by the verse written in his workbook that says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”. This gave relief and comfort to him knowing that He has Christ and all of you supporting him on his healing journey. To top it all off, he was discharged which means he is already feeling good and ready to go home! We will see him again next month to check on his recovery! Photo of Kenth

All eyes in the OR were focused on Kenth's arm as he had surgery this morning. The room was filled with Dr. Jun, the OR nurses, the anesthesiologist, and an x-ray tech with a big C-arm x-ray machine to scan the placement of pins on Kenth's elbow. We hope that the surgery will increase Kenth's capability to flex his elbow and be able to do his daily tasks better. He'll eventually have some physical therapy, but for right now, he'll just focus on getting better and eating well so his bones mend right up! Photo of Kenth

Kenth is all settled in the ward since he is first in line for surgery tomorrow morning! He got his welcome packet—snacks and a workbook with coloring pages and scriptures to meditate on as he heals. Kenth won't be able to each anything after midnight tonight, so the snacks will come in handy before then. His mom, Myrna, is thankful to be here, but we are also filled with gratitude to have the opportunity to serve Kenth! Please pray for his surgery tomorrow! Photo of Kenth
