CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. Everyone who serves with CURE in Philippines, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Jica. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Jica. When you give a gift through Jica's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Jica. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“When I grow up, I want to cook rice!” Jica tells us.

Jica’s silliness and childlike character gives so much joy to those around her! Her mom, Cristina, says that “Jica is a good child. She’s obedient and loves to cook rice. Maybe she wants to own a restaurant someday because of that. But she does more than helping in the kitchen and even helps me do laundry. I hope she is still going to want to do laundry when she grows up!”

Born with amniotic band syndrome, Jica has some limitations to fully living her childlike character. “Jica had to stop going to pre-school because her leg gets swollen and she’s in a lot of pain. She also gets bullied and gets called “burot” (means swollen.) Although she fights back and defends herself when bullies come after her, I hope that her leg becomes healed, so that it doesn’t turn red and swollen anymore,” adds Cristina.

Through our partnership with the Seeds of Dignity ministries, we were able to hold a mobile clinic at another island where Jica and her family lives. And thanks to your support, CURE Philippines is able to provide for Jica’s physical and spiritual needs. Please pray that Jica gets to experience the love of Christ through surgical healing here at Tebow CURE!

Jica was having a rough day today, no giggles, and definitely no fun! But, look at her foot! The swelling will take a while to go down completely, but now that the amniotic band has been eliminated, her body can pump the fluid out of her foot. Our bodies are truly remarkable! Her incision site is looking clean and is healing well too. We’ll check in with Jica again soon, and we’re hoping that her sweet smile returns soon! Photo of Jica

Jica is recovering fast, just as we hope she would! She heard stories about Jesus healing the sick during her stay. One of those stories in Acts 3 has an illustration on her coloring book, where Peter healed a lame beggar in the name of Jesus. Today, we get to be instruments of Jesus' healing power here at Tebow CURE and we thank you allowing us to do this with your support! Photo of Jica

Jica was first in line in the OR this morning while Dr. Shelley and the rest of the medical staff worked together to release Jica's amniotic band. Her foot will be a bit swollen right after surgery, but we hope that the swelling goes down and its size becomes closer to normal as it recovers. Soon, Jica will go back to laughing and giggling again! Please pray for Jica's recovery! Photo of Jica

Laughing and giggling in the ward, we found Jica coloring one of the pages on her “Welcome Workbook!” It’s a book where Jica can process her thoughts and feelings as she goes into surgery this week. Some pages of the book include stories from the Bible about Jesus healing sick people. One of these days, Jica will hear about a story of a paralytic man and a group of men with leprosy who were healed by Jesus. And as she goes through surgery tomorrow, Jica will know that we are only God’s instruments to unfold her healing story! Photo of Jica
