CURE in Philippines

The picture above is of CURE in Philippines. The doctors, nurses, technicians, cooks, cleaners, and administrators of CURE Philippines are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Troy. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $2000 for Troy and kids like him. When you give a gift through Troy's CUREkids profile, your contribution is designated to an exclusive country fund for CURE's work in Philippines, and those funds can only be used for operational expenses to treat patients in Philippines. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Troy. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I’m currently in 3rd grade and Math is my favorite subject. In the future, I’d love to be in the navy!” Shares Troy enthusiastically.

Troy is super sweet and gives out the biggest smile to anyone he meets. His mom Chrisilda affirms that “he’s very loving and always wants to be around [his mom].” Troy is definitely a momma’s boy raised by his hardworking single mom.

Chrisilda tells us her side of the story and says, “I want him to be healed so he doesn’t get bullied. One of his hands is a little weak than the other and his left foot tip toes when he runs. This is an inborn disability. I noticed it when he started crawling using one arm and drags the rest of his body. We went and got him treated through a massage therapist and didn’t get to see a doctor until we ran into the idea of what CURE does through a local bread shop.”

Troy makes most of his friends while playing. He likes to play basketball and hopes to be able to play it even better when he gets healed from surgery!

Rest time continues today while Troy stays in the ward to chill with Chrisilda. "He was not too good after surgery yesterday, but today he is OK," shares Chrisilda. They prayed in the ward and the moms who were interested to have a Bible got one, so did Chrisilda. We continue to pray for Troy as he heals and heads home soon! Photo of Troy

We call achilles tendon lengthening as a "cut, snap, wrap" procedure. It's so quick that Dr. Jun only did all the cutting, snapping, and wrapping in the recovery area where Troy rested and met his mom Chrisilda post-surgery. Both mom and son were nervous before surgery, but they are thankful that it's all over now! Photo of Troy

We understand that Mothers Day was this past weekend, but we can’t help but still recognize Chrisilda for being a rockstar as she raises Troy as a single mom. “I’m nervous and excited at the same time,” shares Chrisilda. Please pray for Troy and his mom tomorrow as Troy goes into surgery! Photo of Troy
