MarkFavour
Kenya - Age 8
Before he has surgery, MarkFavour needed to go to the radiology department for an x-ray. "The doctor said they needed to see under the skin on my hand. They said a picture. I still didn’t understand how they would see through my skin!" MarkFavour shared. The image will give the doctors better insight into the severity of MarkFavour's elbow condition and the available options to correct the joint. Carlo
Philippines - Age 4
Carlo is doing well after his cleft palate surgery and will be going home soon. His mother told us he slept well last night and did not complain of any pain or discomfort. Carlo was given takehome medicine that will help with his recovery. Carlo and his mother, Tessia, will travel back to their province, so please pray for their safe travels and Carlo's fast recovery. Thank you!
Beby Jane
Philippines - Age 18
Beby Jane had a special visitor today: CUREkid Ara Jane, who had almost the same knee condition as Beby Jane and had surgery at Tebow CURE in 2019. Ara Jane's story of transformation and healing has inspired many patients from Tebow CURE, and one of them is Beby Jane. Ara Jane encouraged Beby Jane to be patient during the process. Like her, the journey toward healing and transformation will take a while, but it will all be worth it! Ara Jane's mother, Aida, told Annabella, Beby Jane's mother, about Ara Jane's story and how they overcame many challenges during Ara Jane's healing. It was beautiful to witness a former patient share a powerful testimony with a current patient! Beby Jane was discharged today and will return soon for a follow-up appointment. Please pray for her fast recovery and that her relationship with Jesus will grow even deeper! Thank you!
Ashenafi
Ethiopia - Age 14
Brave Ashenafi recently went to the OR to begin his surgical treatment at the CURE Children's Hospital of Ethiopia. His surgeon, Dr. Tesfaye, removed his old bandages and cleaned his scalp, removing the dead and damaged tissue. Since most of Ashenafi's scalp was damaged by the hyena attack, Dr. Tesfaye took some skin from Ashenafi's thigh and grafted it to his scalp. The successful surgery ended with Dr. Tesfaye applying a new bandage to Ashenafi's scalp. Ashenafi is now back in the ward recovering. Salamatou
Niger - Age 16
Salamatou is recovering very well after surgery to improve mobility in her right arm and hand, thanks to your prayers and encouragement. "I see much progress in the healing of my arm. I thank God and the people at CURE who encourage me,” said Salamatou. Before leaving for home, Roumana, one of our nurses, changed Salamatou's bandage and advised her not to get water on it and to take care of it so the healing would be perfect. Salamatou will be back in a week for a follow-up visit. Please continue to pray for her recovery. Stay blessed!
