Soukayradjou is a bright young boy who was living a normal life with his mother in the village, but they transitioned to living a life in the city in search for better opportunities to improve her life conditions including her children.

One day, while Soukayradjou playing outside with the other children in the neighborhood, a car accidentally hit him and broke his leg. It was the sound of the brakes that grabbed Soukayradjou's mother from inside the house. When she ran outside, she saw her son lying at the edge of the road, which broke her heart enormously. The ambulance brought the child to the hospital in an emergency.

However, as the prescriptions piled up and the mother had no money nor relatives who could help her out, Soukayradjou was unable to receive proper care and got released back home in the same condition. "I was so broke that I couldn't even seek traditional medicine," the mother explained to us. She then turned her eyes to God and continued powerlessly to hope for God's miraculous intervention. As time went by, Soukayradjou's fracture fused but didn’t healed properly. He had to drop out of school because of his condition.

Soukayradjou's mother learned about our hospital through one of her friends, who knew one of our staff. She was able to bring him in and today. Soukayradjou is in our ward preparing to receive the surgery that will fix his neglected fracture. Soukayradjou's mother hopes that her son's surgery will be a success and that he will be able to continue his studies and have a bright future, as well as his other brothers.

Soukayradjou has recovered well from his surgery. He does not need close check-ups and so the doctor decided to release him to continue his healing at home. When we visited him in the ward this morning, Soukayradjou insisted on showing us his steps with his brand new walkers! We pray for Soukayradjou's rapid recovery at home, and we will see him again in five months when he comes for follow up! Photo of Soukayradjou
