CURE in Niger

The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Hassana. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Hassana. When you give a gift through Hassana's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Hassana. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Meet Hassana! She has an instant best friend and twin sister Ousseinia. They are both born with congenital syndactyly on both hands, which means that Hassana's fingers––the little finger, the ring finger and the middle fingers––are joined together. When the twins were born, their parents were very happy to have them. "Even when they noticed the deformity, they learned to thank God for for their babies as they are and trust him for their lives" shares Maria, the twins' grandmother.

Hassana's parents learned about CURE through a relative. Thankful for the financial contributions of friends and relatives, Hassana's parents were able to pay transportation for Hassana and her twin sister to CURE Niger. They are accompanied by their grandmother, Maria.

Maria says that she was very pleased with the warm welcome she received from our hospital when she first arrived. She prays that her granddaughters' operation will be a success.

Hassana bursts out laughing because she finds it very amusing that the patient next to her is very dedicated to singing lullabies to her teddy bear! Hassana and her twin sister adore to get their pictures taken especially when they see us in the ward. They're so silly and try to confuse us with their names. But we are glad to have them around bringing joy to other kids in the guesthouse! Photo of Hassana

Hassana practiced her crafting skills. Aunty Salamatou from the spiritual department asked the group of Hassana to create any object that they remember from their villages using clay. Hassana molded a cow to remember the cows she used to ride in the village when they go to the farm. She also made kitchen stools. Hassana was so happy to play with friends using clay!
