CURE in Niger
The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Hamida. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Hamida. When you give a gift through Hamida's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Hamida. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Up until seven months ago, Hamida was a little girl just like any other. She loved to play "kitchen" with her friends and one day, when her mom had gone into town, she decided to try the real thing. Hamida managed to light a real cooking fire, but this innocent act would change the course of her life drastically. Hamida's cloths ended up catching on fire and she couldn't get them off. She ran outside where an attentive neighbor was able to extinguish the flames, but not before Hamida's legs were badly burned. She was rushed to the hospital and, in time, her burns did heal. But they did so in a way where she developed burn contractures, or melted skin, that make her legs stuck in a useless bent position. It is impossible for Hamida to stand or walk like this.
Hamida's father was distraught and gave everything he had and searched everywhere to find his daughter healing, but his efforts were unsuccessful. Having exhausted all his resources, Hamida's father gave up hope and leaned to embrace the misfortune of his daughter. Against all odds though, one of Hamida's grandmother's friends visited them and learned about Hamida's condition. Being a Christian, he knew about CURE Niger because he has some friends who work here. He encouraged Hamida's parents to bring their daughter to us and he was convinced that they could find healing. Through the financial contribution of friends and relatives, Hamida and her grandmother were able to save enough to make the journey to CURE Niger. Today, Hamida is in the ward waiting for her turn to get surgery to transform her life and restore her legs!
