Inayatou was born with a cleft lip. It's not a condition any mother dreams of for their child, but Inayatou's mother did not lament her baby's condition. "I learned very quickly to thank God because, despite Inayatou's condition, she is my gift from God," she tells us. Thankfully, Inayatou's mother was referred to CURE Niger by the maternity where she gave birth. She has come to our hospital full of hope that Inayatou will be healed.
Let us pray that Inayatou's surgery will go well and she will grow up free of any memory of having a cleft-lip!
Inayatou has been recovering well at the guesthouse. When we met her this morning, she was wrapped in her mother's arms while pushing so hard so she can crawl on the ground. Unfortunately for her, she can't go down because the ground is wet. Thankfully, sweet Imane is entertaining her!
Inayatou is doing well as you can see. She is as smiley as her mother. Inayatou had her stitches removed this morning and, according to the nurses, she doesn't any more wound cleanings because her wound has healed well! Inayatou will see Dr. Karim tomorrow for a progress assessment. Please continue your prayers for Inayatou's full recovery!
We found Inayatou this morning playing on her bed while her mother carefully watched over her from a few feet away. We learned from a nurse that Inayatou is ready to move to our patient guesthouse because she has been recovering so well. Continue praying for Inayatou's full recovery and thank God for the opportunity we have to get to know her and her mom a bit more as they stay with us!
Inayatou is recovering well from her surgery. She is still in the ward where we found her resting in her bed, her feet up, and playing with her mom. It's looking like she'll be able to be discharged to our long term patient guest house as early as tomorrow. Please keep Inayatou in your prayers!
When Inayatou was first waking up after surgery, she was NOT happy - thankfully sweet Deborah was there to calm her down. Now, Inayatou is recovering with her mom in the ward. Please keep praying for her as her lip heals!
