CURE in Niger

The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Anifa. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Anifa. When you give a gift through Anifa's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Anifa. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

She doesn't talk much anywhere" Hanine told us. Anifa used to be a wild spirit till she started to grow u. During the first years, she was born her and her age-mates would always play together. When the got to the age of when they could see she was different they started to make fun of her occasionally. Even though they made fun of her they still played with her and hung out. When they started to really grow the friends that were with her started to desert her. Leaving her out of activities they participated like going to another village for weddings of going out to the market. They would sometimes be cool with her tagging along if they were going somewhere where a lot of people would not see them. Hanine is not happy. "Is this a way to live she said", when we asked her how she feels about her daughter's condition. Hanine is overjoyed that her daughter is getting is able to get help because her future will not be the same with CURE Niger help. Hanine and her family never looped for help because they thought that the condition was fixable. They decided that they just had to bare with the condition because the condition made it hard for her to work so she was not able to pull her weight in chors and other work. "One glorious day my brother told me that he heard of a hospital that could fix Anifas condition", Hanine said. After they heard about CURE Niger they wasted no time to join us.

Anifa had her surgery last week! We are happy to let you know that everything went well. Anifa's surgery was long because the doctors had to be slow and concise. First, the doctors had to find all of the tendons. Then they amputated three of her fingers as she had eight. They then took one finger and moved it lower to make a thumb out of it as she had no thumb. Then they connected all of the tendons and sewed her hand back together. They finished by casting it all up! We are in awe of how creative surgery can be! Please be praying for her healing and recovery process. Photo of Anifa
