The picture above is of CURE in Niger. Everyone who serves with CURE in Niger, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Nassirou. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Nassirou. When you give a gift through Nassirou's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Niger. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Nassirou. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Nassirou's Story

"Nassirou never knew life without knock knees, but to see that he is on the path to a new life makes him happy," said Djatou, Nassirou's mother. Nassirou is the third child in their household. When Nassirou was born ,Djatou could not shake the feeling that either she or one of her family members had done something to upset God. "Nassirou was a carefree child when he was born, but as he grew up, other people, kids and even family members would make fun of him and his condition," Djatou told us. Nassirou became so depressed from all the negative attention he was getting that it has affected the way he interacts with people. Even when Nassirou would meet new people he would keep his guard up and not give them a chance to talk. They can't say anything mean, if he doesn't give them a chance to say anything at all. "The day we heard about CURE Niger was a day that felt like my son was healed," Djaratou said with sincerity. CURE Niger had gone on an outreach a few months ago and met the family and now we're excited to play a part in meeting their need for healing - physically, spiritually, and emotionally!

Nassirou went in for surgery. The doctors used a procedure where they cut his bone in two and then offset the two pieces to correct the angle of Nassirou's leg. They then inserted two pins into the bones segments. Making each pin going from one bone to another looking like an x in his leg so they will hold the bones in place for Nassirou's leg to heal nice and straight! Photo of Nassirou

Nassirou is very shy and does not talk even when spoken to, but we are happy he is finally here! We are excited that he will be getting physical help and also know that he will receive loving care here at CURE Niger. Pray for him so that before he leaves, he will start to open up and talk to people and socialize! Photo of Nassirou
