CURE in Malawi
The picture above is of CURE in Malawi. Everyone who serves with CURE in Malawi, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Rabecca. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Rabecca. When you give a gift through Rabecca's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Malawi. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Rabecca. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

"When I noticed my daughter was feeling rejected and excluded, I was really troubled and I did not have peace. I want her to feel loved and cared for and know that she is beautiful," Kestina, Rabecca's mother, earnestly shared with us.
Rabecca and her mother have come to CURE Malawi after making a long trip through the night to reach to us. It was not an easy trip, but they would do almost anything to find healing for Rabecca. Rabecca has had a hard life due to her disability. She was born with a condition called bow legs where her legs bend out awkwardly. Her legs cause her intense pain, so much pain that she has dropped out of school. On top of the physical challenges, Rabecca struggles emotionally. She feels rejected and unloved in her community although her family desperately tries to show her they will always have her back.
Thankfully a local doctor told Rabecca and Kestina about us here at CURE Malawi and they have now made the trip and have been admitted for Rabecca to get surgery! Our surgical staff will straighten her legs and she will leave us with the ability to run, play, and integrate into her community. Please stand with us to pray and support Rabecca!
Latest Updates
Rabecca was discharged today! But we are sad to let you know that we missed to get one last smiling picture of her before she left. However, we know that she will be OK as we arranged a follow-up for her at a local hospital with our local partner doctors in August. Please keep her in your prayers as she recovers.
Rabecca, together with her mother, played a game called “bao”. It’s a board game played with holes and stones. Rabecca was eager to find out who the winner was! For hours, parents would play this game with their children to keep them interested, and we are happy to announce that Rabecca has been the champion! We’re going to keep on cheering for Rabecca as they continue to play. Hopefully, this will help her speed up her healing process on top of your prayers and support! Rabecca is still under observation here at CURE Malawi as we hope for her pain to subside. Please continue to pray for her!
"I love making a headwrap! My mother taught me how to do it," said Rabecca. Today, we spent some time with her as she shared how she loves to sing. Throughout our time with her, Rabecca carried an awesome smile! Rabecca will go home this week, but our CURE Malawi doctors will be seeing her again soon. Please keep her in prayers!
