CURE in Malawi
The picture above is of CURE in Malawi. Everyone who serves with CURE in Malawi, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Tadala. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Tadala. When you give a gift through Tadala's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Malawi. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Tadala. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“Hearing Tadala called an animal just because she has melted fingers really hurt even me. I could not bear it any more,” said Eflida, Tadala's Grandmother.
Tadala was born with a deformity on her left hand where her fingers are all stuck together. They have gone to their local hospital many times seeking help, but each time they are merely told to wait. As they have done just this, life has gotten harder for Tadala. The other children at her school have become more aware of her disability with age and use it to make her feel inferior. They call her names like "the animal." The emotional stress makes it hard for Tadala to focus on her schoolwork and, after more than a few fights, she has found herself more and more ostracized from her peers.
Finally giving up hope in their local hospital, Tadala's family took her to another community clinic where a staff member was able to tell them about us here at CURE Malawi. “I could see my hopes rising again!” Eflida remembers with glee.
We thank God for opening a door to Tadala to see her life transformed through surgery. Please join us in prayers and support, as we will be with Tadala and her grandmother here at CURE Malawi!
Latest Updates
Tadala is heading home, but before leaving, she enjoyed her TV time one last time. The doctors planned on keeping her longer since she's from so far away, but they aren't ready to do her second procedure quite yet, and think it would be best for her to continue bandage changes at her local clinic and then come back to CURE Malawi at a later date. The doctors are planning on completing her next operation in 2020, so please continue to keep her in your prayers while she heals at home!
Tadala is hanging out in her favorite spot today ... the playroom! She's still enjoying her everyday play at the hospital along with her daily wound inspections. Since Tadala lives over four hours away from CURE Malawi and it was a complicated operation, she'll be here for a while continuing wound inspections to make sure nothing gets infected. We love having her around and are praying and looking forward to her full healing!
Tadala is full of smiles and giggles this morning. She's still continuing her wound dressings and care in the ward and patiently waiting to go home. Tadala is still full of energy and loves playing at the hospital with old and new friends every week. Her mom on the other hand is becoming a bit exhausted and homesick. Please keep both Tadala and her mom in your prayers as they continue to persevere for the healing of Tadala's hand!
