CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like ShellyAnn. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like ShellyAnn. When you give a gift through ShellyAnn's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with ShellyAnn. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Meet ShellyAnn! She was born with clubfoot and an amniotic band on both legs. ShellyAnn is the third born child of her parents and the only sibling with clubfoot. Thankfully, they were able to begin her clubfoot treatment immediately at CURE. Leah, ShellyAnn’s mom told us, "My daughter’s feet were really curved inwardly and when we came to CURE, that was able to change from the word go!”

ShellyAnn and her mom are back to get the amniotic bands on both her legs released. “I have a lot of faith that the team here is going to work on my daughter, and she will come out healed and ready to stand comfortably,” Leah exclaimed.

Today

ShellyAnn will be required to continue with her clubfoot treatment for now. The doctors did not want to expose her to the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), which is a medical imaging method used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. An MRI was requested to take a closer look at ShellyAnn’s anatomy. The doctors determined that it would be better for her to just observe her as she grows up and deal with the issue of her amniotic bands later. Photo of ShellyAnn

Yesterday

This sweet little girl’s surgery will have to be delayed for a bit, as the doctors decide the best course of action for ShellyAnn. Please pray for wisdom for our doctors and that God will lead them towards the right decision in ShellyAnn's treatment. Photo of ShellyAnn

ShellyAnn was feeling hungry this morning because she wasn’t allowed to eat anything until after her surgery is done. So, she was a bit teary-eyed. Her surgery is tomorrow. Please pray for a successful procedure. Photo of ShellyAnn
