CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Chesister. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Chesister. When you give a gift through Chesister's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Chesister. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Friends, meet Chesister! She is a 17-year-old girl who has just completed her primary school education and is looking forward to going to high school to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. Chesister is not shy, but she likes to hold back and give things a deeper thought before engaging.

We first met Chesister at her school two years ago. Chesister was born with a bone condition that bent her leg. When she was nine years old, she fell on her way to school. She hit her tibia on a rock, around the same area where her leg was bent, breaking it. Chesister’s father used traditional methods to treat her leg. Unfortunately, she developed multiple infections during this time. When we met her, she was in seventh grade, getting ready to complete her primary school education (Class 8). But COVID-19 happened and stopped all learning programs in the country.

Fortunately, Chesister's father received news of a mobile clinic near their home, and they made sure to attend. When they got there, she was scheduled to come to the CURE Children's Hospital of Kenya to receive surgery. Chesister and her father made it safely to the hospital and are now looking forward to the procedure. “We have faith that her leg will be healed, and we believe that God can do a miracle!” Simon, Chesister’s father told us.

We found Chesister and her dad checking out a CURE care package given to them by a member of the spiritual department. They were both very excited when they saw all the items inside. Chesister is doing well with her healing. She is not experiencing any pain, and we thank God for that! Our friend will need a wound check before she can be discharged to go home. Thank you for supporting Chesister! Photo of Chesister

“I want to be a doctor when I am done with school so that I can help children in my village not have to wait until they are older to be treated!” Chesister told us. We are privileged to be part of this young lady’s transformation story. We kindly ask that you join us in prayer throughout her treatment process. Photo of Chesister
