CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Paul. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Paul. When you give a gift through Paul's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Paul. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I feel very bad when my son comes home from school and tells me that some children laughed at him because of how he walks.” Betty, Paul’s mum told us.

Paul is a 11 year old boy who was born normal. The mum says that Paul took longer than usual to start walking. He started walking when he turned 2.5 years whereas other children start walking as early as one year. When Paul started walking, Betty noticed that he used his toes to walk and couldn’t put his entire foot down. Soon his foot began to curve inwards.

Betty took her son to hospital where a cast was applied just once and after it was taken off nothing else was done to try and correct Paul’s condition. Betty heard about CURE from her friend who works at the school where Paul goes. She decided to give it a try so she can at least help her son. Betty is very optimistic that everything will be okay and that her son will be better. Please pray for the procedure to be successful.

This morning, we gave Paul an opportunity to check out the inside of a car so he can have a general idea of how one works. As expected, he had many questions. Paul was super excited about this and was very appreciative of the opportunity. Paul is leaving for home today after his cast is redone. We will see him again soon for a check-up. Thank you for praying for Paul. Photo of Paul

Paul sneaked into the operating room real quick and came out before we could join him to take a few pictures of his procedure. The procedure was successful, and we found Paul in the ward resting. He has a cast on that does not allow him to bend his knee, which is a strange feeling. This is why Paul was not very impressed at the time we were taking his picture. Please join us in praying for Paul's recovery! Photo of Paul

“I want to be a race car driver when I grow up,” Paul told us. Paul loves cars and speed and is very intentional about racing in the future. He is also curious. This morning, as he was getting his x-ray taken, he wanted to see how it looked. Ted, our x-ray technician, was kind enough to allow him to see what he was doing. Photo of Paul
