"I got stressed for a week until I couldn't produce breast milk."

When Ramsey was born, Jane, his mom, got shocked on seeing the cleft lip condition. She had never seen anything like that before and she cried a lot outside the Baby Nursery as she looked through the glass. The doctors informed her that Ramsey would be administered a substitute solution that has the same nutrients as breast milk for a week until she could be able to produce her own milk.

"I was taken through counseling and I learned that Cleftlip is caused by inconsistencies in maternal clinic visits." Jane told us. The clinic visits need to be done early so that the doctors can monitor any inconsistencies in the development of the baby and act promptly. However, with the information she gained, she was directed to CURE for the cleftlip repair surgery. Through CURE's partnership with SMILE TRAIN, Jane is at CURE with Ramsey for the repair.

The biggest challenge with Ramsey is his inability to be breastfed. As a result, Jane, Ramsey's mom has resorted to artificial stimulation via a breast pump. Here, she was self pumping some milliliters of milk for Ramsey once he's done with surgery since he's on a breastmilk only diet. Let's continue to pray for Ramsey and her mum during their time at CURE. Photo of Ramsey

Phylis, our anesthetist prayed with Jane and Ramsey as they were getting ready to go into the operating room. Jane is looking forward to seeing Ramsey's upper lip repaired so that he can be properly breastfed during his first years for a healthy life in this beautiful world. Kindly join us in prayer and support as Ramsey goes into surgery. Photo of Ramsey
