CURE in Kenya
The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Chebet. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.
We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Chebet. When you give a gift through Chebet's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.
Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!
When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Chebet. We call it being a CURE Hero!
Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I had to stop going to school so that I could stay home and take care of my little sister.” Samuel, Chebet’s big brother told us.
Chebet is a 10 year old girl who we met at a mobile clinic organised by CURE Kenya and the county government where she lives. Samuel is her elder brother and he takes care of her. According to Samuel, his sister Chebet wasn’t born with disability. He says he only realised that she had a problem with her feet when she started walking.
When Chebet was taken to hospital, nothing much was done for her since it was a tiny dispensary in her village. She had to go home without any assistance. She grew up with her feet curved inwards and has practically lived like that till now. Chebet has never stepped into a school because the closest one near her home is almost 5 kilometres (3 miles) away and with her disability, it is very hard to walk that distance every morning and back. Chebet lives in an area with a rough terrain and it would really cause her a lot of pain if she had to go to school that way.
Samuel is happy that her sister now has a chance to be transformed and live a normal life. He is hopeful that Chebet will be healed. “I would wish for her to go to school after she is healed. I also desire to go back to school and continue with my education.” Samuel, told us.
Latest Updates
Our sweet little friend was resting well this morning before she had a wound check and cast change. After that, she was discharged! We thank God for the healing that Chebet is experiencing and we pray that when they go home they will have journey mercies on the road.
Chebet is having a restful morning in our brand new CURE Kenya ward! She is here from the same village and towns as some other kids who are in the ward this week. So while her surgery is done and she's doing well, she has to wait until all of them have surgery so they can all travel back together. Please continue praying for her healing!
We learned today that Chebet has never seen a picture of herself before! When we took a picture of her this morning and showed it to her, she started giggling and smiling. We're going to print a picture of Chebet and her brother together and have them take it home to show their whole family. Chebet is doing well. She just has a bit of post-pain but she is managing it really well!
