"I was astonished at what I saw on my daughter's feet," Margaret, Esther's mom shares with us.

This is Esther's second procedure at CURE Kenya. During the first few months after her birth, Esther was taken through the Ponseti Method of clubfoot treatment but due to the distance between their home and the hospital, they missed a couple of clinics. A few years later, we had a new mobile clinic closer to their home, an initiative aimed to reach out to children in need of medical care but are far from the hospital. Esther got her first clubfoot surgery successfully on her right foot and now, she's back for the left foot procedure. Her confidence has gone up as a result of her first treatment and her mother has a testimony to tell on how far the Lord has brought them.

Esther is brave and loves to socialize with people. Other kids have really boosted her self-esteem by playing with her and looking past her deformity. She has gotten used to living with clubfeet but she has expressed her desire to do more. Truly, God has great things planned for Esther and we look forward to seeing that through her healing transformation!

The anesthetists were calming Esther in the operating room as they administered anesthesia before the procedure began. The doctors performed a procedure to correct Esther's clubfoot, which aligned the foot in a more normal position. The surgical procedure included making two separate incisions, a posteromedial incision, and a small lateral incision that released and lengthened the tight tendons/joint capsule of the foot. We thank you for your prayers and encouraging get well messages you've been sending to Esther and her mother Margaret. Photo of Esther

We gave Esther a new teddy bear to keep her company just before her procedure hoping to lift her mood as she waits for her turn in surgery. "I'm gonna name her 'Precious!'" Esther exclaimed. We are glad that she has been positive all throughout and surely her healing is coming to a close. Photo of Esther
