We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Faith. When you give a gift through Faith's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Faith. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I pray that my daughter will be better so she can go to school without needing much assistance. Then she could enjoy her time with other kids,” says Faith’s dad, Geoffrey.

Meet Faith, Geoffrey’s firstborn child and a sister to six other children. Faith was born with multiple health problems, including issues in her spine. She had a few tests done at birth because the doctors noticed that she was different. After a series of screenings, the doctors told Geoffrey that the hole in her back would become a problem as she grew up.

Geoffrey started looking for treatment options for faith. When Faith learned how to walk, Geoffrey became optimistic for her health. But it wasn’t until the doctors told him that Faith was going to have a limb deformity when Geoffrey felt the urgency to look for more options for Faith. Her foot started to curve and her left knee began to bend inwards such that it looked like she had knocked knees. Geoffrey was desperate for help.

Geoffrey continued to look for treatment until he could not afford to take Faith to a local hospital anymore. Her deformity was neglected for a few years until Geoffrey met a friend who knew about CURE Kenya. He was asked to bring her to a mobile clinic, where Faith’s story took a turn for the better.

Faith is now at CURE Kenya. She needs her knock-knee corrected so she can walk straight. Her dad remains very hopeful that this surgery will change her life. Geoffrey especially looks forward to seeing Faith after the procedure, walking to school on her own and playing with other kids. Please pray for Faith’s surgery to be successful!

Faith and her dad came to our mobile clinic in their town this week. She is doing well and it was nice to catch up with her and just find out how she is doing. She struggled a bit when her pins were being removed but the pain was over sooner rather than later. Faith has to wear a cast for another six weeks and we expect to see her soon. Photo of Faith

Geoffrey was a bit worried when we went to the ward and asked for a few minutes to speak to him and his daughter. Little did he know that we were going to share your lovely get well messages to them both! When we were done reading, Faith and Geoffrey the messages, they could not hide their joy. We showed Faith a photo of one family that had sent a message and attached a picture. She really loved it. “Friends thank you so for your support both in prayers and in kind. We are humbled.” Geoffrey said. Photo of Faith

After a successful surgery yesterday, Faith had a lot of time today to rest. She seemed pretty muted due to some post-op discomfort, but we are happy that she has began her transformative journey! Please pray for a smooth recovery for Faith. Photo of Faith

Faith’s day to have surgery is finally here! We thank God that she can now get the hardest part over and done with and what will remain afterwards will just be her recovery process. Her procedure will straighten her leg so when she stands, her knees don’t knock into or rub each other causing her so much pain. Please pray for a successful procedure! Photo of Faith

Faith and her dad were bummed out that Faith couldn’t go to the OR today, but she is scheduled for tomorrow! Luckily for Faith, our spiritual team is very much equipped with coloring books and crayons to keep everyone busy as they stay at CURE Kenya. Faith was given a few pages for her to color and learn more about God in the process. Please pray for patience as Faith and Geoffrey wait their turn to go to the OR. Photo of Faith

Faith is a bit shy, but, after meeting and getting to know you, she warms right up to you! We interacted a bit with her and she agreed to smile for the camera. Please pray for Faith’s time at CURE Kenya and for her to experience God’s love during her healing journey! Photo of Faith
