“I came to CURE Kenya with two expectations: physical treatment for my Collins and spiritual nourishment for us both.” Irene, Collins' mum, told us when we asked her about her expectations at CURE.

We met four year old Collins 4yrs old a little while ago at one of our mobile clinics near his home. He is both humble and shy. Collins had been brought to see the doctors because his foot made it hard for him to walk. It turns out he has a condition called clubfoot where his foot is bent onto it's side. Unfortunately, Collins will need surgery to correct his condition, but thankfully, we can help!

“I am grateful to CURE Kenya for the support and I look forward to see my son walking like other children.” Irene told us with a smile on her face.

Let's pray for Collins as he gets ready for surgery!

Today

Collins is going home today and it was very obvious when we saw him this morning that he was excited. “We are very surprised that there is such a place in this country, where people are so kind and loving and they pray everyday!” Collin’s dad told us. Friends, please remember to keep praying for Collin’s recovery and for his journey home today. Photo of Collins

Yesterday

Collins has quickly recovered, a situation that brightens his mother's face. She thought they would have to stay for more than two weeks only to be told that they could be discharged as early as tomorrow! Today is a good day for Collins as he started learning how to walk with his walker. Let's continue to pray for him. Photo of Collins

Collins had a successful operation yesterday, he also had a calm night. When we visited him, we couldn't believe that he underwent for an operation because he was so peaceful! Kanana, one of our CURE Kenya nurses, was taking Collins' vitals while we were visiting and let's continue to pray for quick recovery! Photo of Collins

Collins went in for surgery today, oblivious of what will happen, he was still smiling. His mother looked anxious but she was certain that his surgery would be successful. Collins' mother also has neglected clubfoot and we encouraged her to talk to the doctors. It is our prayer to see her come for surgery so she can also walk comfortably like Collins soon will. We will continue to update you on his progress. Meanwhile, let's pray for a successful surgery! Photo of Collins
