What am I giving to?

CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Dinah. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Dinah. When you give a gift through Dinah's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Dinah. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“You’re the odd one out! You’re not like us!” These are the kind of words Dinah has heard from other children when she tries to play with them.

Dinah was born with clubfoot, and although her mom took her for treatment for the first few years of her life, there has not been much change. Most days, Dinah stays inside, away from other children, until it comes time to go to school. However, despite all of her challenges, Dinah still has a smile on her face. She’s cuteness mixed with a little mischief! She enjoys playing football, and she’s helpful at home.

It’s her mom’s prayer that Dinah will grow up to become a leader. Her mom hopes that she’ll become a doctor and help other children. So many things are possible for Dinah, and we are happy to have her here at CURE Kenya.

Today

We’ve been sending photos to one of Dinah’s relatives, and her mom wanted another photo of them together as they were preparing to leave. Dinah is going home and this is fabulous news -- good enough to smile about! Thank Jesus with us that she gets to go home! Photo of Dinah

Yesterday

Dinah has a sneaky smile. Sometimes she can look so incredibly serious and then this happens: her pretty little face lights up like a Christmas tree! One of the reasons that she is smiling is that she’ll be going home soon! She went for a cast change in the operating room today, and if all goes well, she should be able to go home tomorrow. This is Dinah and her mama. The mama who has cared for her for years, and most especially this week as she recovers in the hospital. The mama who has chosen to fight for and seek treatment for her daughter. The mama whose undying love has resulted in Dinah’s healing. Dinah and her mama will stay around this weekend, and hopefully, Dinah will be ready for a cast change on Monday. Photo of Dinah

Nail painting is an extra special treat, and oh so perfect for moments when your cast forces you to stay in bed. The patient in the bed next to Dinah loves doing nails and had brought nail polish with her. Although the patient’s cast made getting out of bed difficult, her mom was mobile and painted Dinah’s nails! We hope Dinah feels as pretty as she looks and that her nails bring lots of brightness to her day! Photo of Dinah

Today is a day of recovery for Dinah. Her cast has been split to help make her more comfortable as her foot takes time to reduce post-surgery swelling. The good news is that Lord willing, the swelling will go down soon, and Dinah will get herself a new cast. We’re hoping for smiles soon too! Photo of Dinah

Yesterday, Dr. Theuri and Dr. Maritim spent time working on Dinah’s foot to help straighten it. When healing is complete, we are praying that Dinah will no longer have to stand on her tiptoes to walk or have her foot curve inward. Photo of Dinah

“A smile is the happiness you'll find right under your nose.” - Tom Wilson Dinah’s smile is coming from the healing that will begin this week. Pray for Dinah as we begin to correct her foot. Photo of Dinah
