Even before we met Livingstone, we could hear giggles coming from the ward. This joyful two year old loves life! But life isn't all giggles for Livingstone. He was born with several tissue deformities on both his hands and his feet. Some of his fingers and toes are essentially two-in-one or her has double fingers and toes that are joined. His condition makes fine motor skills difficult, not to mention how it makes him the topic of mocking and mean rumors. They have some struggles. And yet — Livingstone’s mom knows that life is going to be okay if she focuses on God.
Please pray for little Livingstone - that once he has his surgery, he’ll just keep sharing his happy and loving self with others. And pray for his mom - that as she spends time at CURE Kenya, she’ll learn new ways to focus on God despite circumstances in her life!
Livingstone made another trip to the OR, but this time it was only a little one to have his casts changed. Just because it was a little one, doesn’t mean it was without tears though. Despite Livingstone’s tears, he’s healing well and went home after his cast change. We'll see him again in a few weeks. Please pray for no more tears and lots more healing!
“She has told me she is always standing with God and she is always trusting God,” Anastacia our spiritual intern told us today about a conversation she had with Livingstone's mom. Mama Livingstone loves Jesus and we’re hoping that this love and dedication will someday bring Livingstone to know Jesus too. Please pray Livingstone and his mama both see Jesus in our staff over the weekend!
This sad but adorable little man was hiding from the camera today, but is doing okay. He just needs more time to recover from his surgery and boom, he’ll be back to his bubbly little self! Livingstone needs to stick around CURE Kenya for a while for a series of wound checks and dressing changes before he can officially go home. We are happy that Livingstone is out of the high dependency unit and we know that God will continue healing him and giving him so much joy!
Livingstone adores playing, and we’re looking forward to when he can play again, unhindered by bandages on his hand and post-OR sleepies. He went to the HDU (high dependency unit) after surgery yesterday because his breathing was sounding congested, but thankfully, he's doing great and he’s now back in the ward, lost in his dreams!
Livingstone went to the OR today and had both his feet and his hand operated on. There were at least 4 doctors around his table so his surgery didn’t take too long. Livingstone had a successful operation and we are excited to have started his transformation journey. Please pray for healing and a smooth recovery!
Livingstone loves life. He loves to dance. He loves to play. He loves to make his not-so-little little voice heard. And he apparently loves making friends like Ruth who works in our warehouse. Being here at CURE Kenya is opening up a whole new world of friends for this little man!
