CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Lengai. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Lengai. When you give a gift through Lengai's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Lengai. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I would like him to be well so he can go to school because he is a good boy,” Lengai’s grandma said with a lot of hope in her voice.

According to his grandma, Lengai wasn’t born with his deformity. We couldn’t quite understand what happened due to language barrier but we did understand that his grandma and mother noticed this problem after two months. Lengai was taken to the hospital when he was five months old but his grandma says the problem got worse after that.

Lengai is four years old now but cannot go to school because moving around is a bit of a challenge. His grandma is very optimistic that he will be able to go to school once his correction is complete. They are now at CURE Kenya for Lengai’s corrective surgery. Please pray that the surgery is successful and that God will heal our new friend!

Lengai and his grandma get to go home today and we are very happy about this! It was so good to make a new friend and although we’d want to spend so much more time together, Lengai needs to go and recover at the comfort of his home. Please thank God with us for the amazing work HE has began in Lengai and pray that the next time we see Lengai he will be transformed! Photo of Lengai

In the book of Nehemiah 8:10 Ezra was speaking to the remnant of Israel who returned to Judah to rebuild the city and the temple. This was a time of restoration not only for the city but also of obedience to the law of God. Ezra said, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” This is a time of restoration for Lengai and as you can see, the Lord has been so good to him to give him so much joy which is His strength! Friends, please thank God with us for Lengai’s transformation journey and pray that it will run smoothly to the end. Photo of Lengai

“Hi Gugu! Are you well?” We asked Lengai’s grandma the morning before his surgery. “Sidai oleng!” She responded in Maasai saying she was very good. She had a hard time trying to get Lengai not to eat anything but was assisted by other mums in her cubicle. Lengai’s surgery didn’t involve so much as it was releasing his tendon that was tight causing him to walk on his toes. He will now need to wear a cast as he recovers so that when the cast is taken off, his tendon will be the right length and he will be able to step down with his foot. Thank you for praying for our brave boy! Photo of Lengai

Lengai found a new joy at CURE Kenya. He loves balloons and can play continuously without a break. We left him at his bedside playing with balloons and a few hours after, we still found him doing the same! His grandma seemed happy to let him play around because it distracted him from eating before his surgery. Tomorrow we will let you know about his surgery went! Photo of Lengai
