CURE in Kenya

The picture above is of CURE in Kenya. Everyone who serves with CURE in Kenya, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Reagan. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Reagan. When you give a gift through Reagan's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Kenya. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Reagan. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“I want to be a driver when I grow up. I want to drive ambulances and help people get to hospital faster!” - Reagan

Meet Reagan, a six year old boy who has such an awesome smile! When we first met him we knew for a fact that we were going to have a fun time together and he would bring joy to the ward. When Reagan was born, his parents were excited to have him and they did not think that their son would have any physical problems. When Reagan turned one, he started crawling and trying to walk by holding onto things in the house. His parents noticed that he was stiff and his legs were not very strong so they visited the nearest hospital and were told to try physiotherapy.

They went back home and consistently took Reagan to the hospital every week for physiotherapy sessions. They were also doing some of the exercises at home. Reagan started improving with time so they stopped physio. The problem was not completely gone though and eventually Reagan went back to his initial state. Reagan now needs surgery to release some of his muscles so that he can stand properly and walk like his friends.

Friends please pray for Reagan’s surgery and for smooth recovery once he comes back from theatre!

Reagan is doing well! Today he asked us to bring him sweets, "one with a stick" when we were leaving for lunch. Unfortunately when we got back he was asleep, but we left the candy sucker with his mum. We told Reagan about the possibility of him being discharged over the weekend and the fact that he might not see us again and he was a bit bummed out about that. He told us that he won't forget us when he goes home and he will always pray for us. Dear friends, please help us return the favor by praying for him as well! We asked Reagan why he was thankful and he said, "I am thankful for my mum for always taking care of me, and for friends like you who care about me." Such a sweet boy isn't he? Photo of Reagan

A compassionate mum is the best thing any child could ever have. This is Reagan’s mum feeding Reagan oranges as he lies on his bed recovering after surgery. We know Reagan loves his mum a lot and we can say the same about his mum as well. We are happy that Reagan is progressing well and today he is not in as much pain as he was yesterday. Reagan had such a bright face today despite going through surgery. Friends please pray that his recovery is smooth and that he doesn’t struggle a lot with pain. He cannot move around much now but we can’t wait to see how he improves after a while! Photo of Reagan

Reagan didn't go for surgery as scheduled today due to unavoidable circumstances in theatre, however, he kept himself busy in the playroom coloring with the other kids. Later on in the day at the playground, he made some new friends and was having a good time. Here is a short video, a glimpse of how much fun he was having while at the hospital. Let's continue to pray for him!

Reagan was resting and bonding with his mum Purity today as he waited for his turn to go in for surgery. Please pray with us that it will be successful and that he doesn't take very long to recover! Photo of Reagan
