Kalid and his mother Hadra came to CURE Ethiopia for Kalid’s burn contracture. A few months back Kalid was at home playing with his little sister like he used to, but accidentally he fell on a burning charcoal that his mom Hadra make to prepare coffee which burned his right hand and fingers. His family rushed him to a hospital nearby right away and Kalid get the treatment he needed then but when his hand healed, all the five fingers on his right hand were stuck together. “After his accident, he is learning to use his left hand to eat, write and to do everything because all of his fingers on the right hand are stuck together,” Kalid’s mother Hadra shared. After seeing his burn contracture, his family start seeking help and finally heard about the hospital from a previous patient of ours and brought Kalid here.

Kalid is in the second year of kindergarten and he told us he loves his school and playing with his friends there. Join us in welcoming him while he starts his healing journey!
