Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Agegnhu. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Agegnhu. When you give a gift through Agegnhu's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. “I love drawing and enjoy everything about it, that’s why I want to be an architect when I grow up” Agegnhu tells us proudly.

Agegnhu has come to CURE Ethiopia seeking help for his burned foot. As is usual for Agegnhu, he was outside running around and playing with his friends. What he didn't know was that his neighbors had just finished burning their garbage and while the flames were out, the ashes were still very hot. Agegnhu accidentally stepped in the glowing ashes, badly burning his foot. His friends got his family who rushed him to a medical center which was able to give him some treatment, but Agegnhu's foot still healed incorrectly. Three of the toes on his right foot are essentially melted together. While the burns have healed, his melted toes cause him pain and difficulty both when walking and trying to play soccer - the main and most important social activities among his friends. Thankfully, one of our CURE Ethiopia staff members saw him and told him to swing by the hospital for treatment. Now that Agegnhu is here, our surgeons will separate his melted toes, freeing him from disability and opening up his future! Join us in welcoming this young guy as he starts his healing journey!

Agegnhu swung back for another check up today and we unfortunately missed meeting up with him. He was in and out with Dr. Tesfaye who once again changed Agegnhu's bandage and cleaned his wound. It's these regular check ups and cleanings that help us keep Agegnhu infection free as he slowly heals back up to 100%!
