What am I giving to?

CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Shalom. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Shalom. When you give a gift through Shalom's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Shalom. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Shalom's Story

“She doesn’t like her arm and always says it's itchy and asks why she can’t move it like the other children”. says Hanna, Shalom’s mother. Hanna continues, “It’s always painful seeing her like this but now I’m glad I have found a place that will help me heal my daughter”.

Shalom has come to the CURE Ethiopia with her mother Hanna seeking help for her burn contracture. Hanna remembers the day the burns happened. “I stepped outside of the house for a second after putting her to bed and her older sister was next to her playing. I returned to find her bed on fire!” It turns out Shalom's sister had accidentally knocked over the lantern and it fell onto Shalon's bed, setting the whole thing on fire. Shalom was just a six months old at the time. Hanna took Shalom to a hospital right away and she had a treatment there but her arm still healed in a way where the melted skin prevents her from fully straightening her arm.

Hanna takes care of the family by working as a daily laborer. “Shalom is a happy and active little girl and I look forward to the day that she will be healed and start school without any problems”. Hanna tells us with a smile on her face. Please join us in welcoming the family while they start their healing journey!
