Natnael's Story

"I'm very grateful for this hospital, not only for Natnael but my other son, Mikias, who was considered deformed in our community," says Meskerem, Natanel's mother.

Natnael fell on a wet floor at school and has been unable to get his arm treated since. "We lost hope of treatment. We didn't know there was a treatment for my son Mikias's condition. He's healed now and you wouldn't even notice he's been sick in the past!" exclaims Meskerem. After taking him to a traditional healer who told her she needed to go to a hospital and have a x-ray done, they went to thier local hospital. Natnael was casted but the treatment didn't work. He is the second child of three and the only boy for his parents. "He'd go to school and the kids would tease him, calling him handicap, so it really bothered him and he didn't want to attend school anymore," continues Meskerem. He was on his way to graduate from kindergarten. It took some time for Meskerem to remember CURE because it had been a while since Mikias was treated, but once she did they made a appointment to be seen! Meskerem and her husband are day laborers. "I only like to play football and I really enjoy it," Natnael shyly tells us! Join us in praying for a safe return for admission and the beginning of healing!

Our fun-loving boy Natnael was running around the ward and laughing with our other kids! We asked him why he is in the hospital, "I was playing with my friends and accidentally fell and hurt my elbow," he answered. Now he is with us to have an operation on his right elbow, a couple of weeks back he had another surgery on his left arm and it is healing well. Keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery!
