What am I giving to?

CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Mamaru. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Mamaru. When you give a gift through Mamaru's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Mamaru. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

”I noticed the deformity when he started to walk around the age of one,” says Azmeraw, Minyichl’s father.

Minyichl is the youngest of two boys for Azmeraw. He’s not in school yet, but already the children in their town tease Minyichl because of his deformed foot. That doesn’t stop him from being playful though! Minyichl can walk, but it’s difficult for him to run or climb. CURE Ethiopia is the first hospital Minyichl has been to and he was referred here by a local NGO. They come all the way from the west side of Ethiopia where his family farms for a living. “I want to ride a bicycle,” says Minyichl. We hope that after his treatment here at CURE Ethiopia he will be able to! Please join us in praying for Minyichl’s healing!

Mamaru is back! You may of known him as Minyichl when we first met him but he's asked us to change his name. The meaning of Minyichl is "what can he do?" which his father believed fit him at birth because of his disability. Mamaru means "how handsome he is" and Mamaru thinks it fits him better now that he's almost completely healed and so do we! Dr. Rick checked him out during rounds and he's ready for his procedure today. We're excited for him! Photo of Mamaru
