CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Rehemet. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Rehemet. When you give a gift through Rehemet's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Rehemet. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Rehemet's Story

"I think it is time for her to be healed, that's why we are here now," says Mola, Rehmet's father.

Rehemet is a sweet little girl who has come to the CURE hospital seeking help for her bowed legs. Her father Mola told us he has four children and Rehemet is his youngest, she is the only one with a leg problem and the rest of his children are healthy. He also told us, "I did not try anything to help her because I thought it would go away when she got older and I always thought that she will walk like her siblings." One day a man from a city was passing through Rehemet's village and he saw her playing with her friends. He did not get a chance to meet with Mola, but he left his information with the neighbors, telling them there is healing for her and to bring her to the capital. After hearing the news, Mola brought his daughter right away. Rehemet loves playing with her friends and neighbors but they always make fun of her and call her names. Kids in Rehemet's village start school at the age of seven and she is only five so she has not started quite yet, but when she's old enough to go, she will go with the confidence that comes through healing! Please join us welcoming sweet Rehemet as she starts her healing journey!

Rehemet has come back to CURE Ethiopia hospital to have her operation. She was feeling a little too shy to play with the other children for today but once she gets used to the environment we're confident that she will have fun with everyone! She will have her operation tomorrow, please keep her in your prayers! Photo of Rehemet

Sweet Rehemet was having a great time playing with our Storyteller, Betty. Unfortunately it was determined that she's not fit to have her operation today. Our pediatrician would like her to have a month or two of nutritional care locally before we operate so that her body is strong and can heal better. She will be staying at a local home until then. We look forward to seeing her again real soon! Photo of Rehemet
