”I want to be a doctor and heal people,” proclaimed Kume.

Kume is a 10-year-old sweet girl. She came to CURE hospital with her father Dinku and her older sister Direbe seeking help for her burn contracture. Dinku told us that when Kume was six-months-old she accidentally fell on a fire and hurt her arm, she went to different hospitals and got a treatment at the time, but her arm is still fused and she needs a treatment. Her sister Direbe heard about CURE from a previous patient of ours and they came to us. Kume’s parents are farmers, and she has six siblings- four sisters and two brothers. She is in grade three and she loves school so much. Kume told us that no one in her school or in her village makes fun of her condition, but she does not like showing her arm to anyone because people ask her different questions. She always hides her hand with her sweater. Join us welcoming Kume as she starts her healing journey!
