What am I giving to?

CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. Everyone who serves with CURE in Ethiopia, from medical professionals to office staff, are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Zenash. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $1000 to treat children like Zenash. When you give a gift through Zenash's CUREkids profile, your contribution will help us continue our work in countries like Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Zenash. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

“When I grow up I want to be doctor!” proclaims Zenash.

Zenash is a 10th grader who comes from northwest of the capital city. She is the fifth child for her father Tamir. Tamir is a tailor in the small streets of their hometown. When Zenash was two years old she was diagnosed with Malaria. While being treated at a local hospital the IV she received caused an inflammatory reaction which entangled her tendons. Without treatment and being a growing child, Zenash’s bones in her arm became deformed. Tamir also has a deformity that he’s had for a long time. He brought his daughter to clinic so that she may be healed and not suffer like he has. We pray for this family while they seek healing!

Zenash is doing great! Her wrist is healing well and she can move it now! Dr.Rick told her to continue with the exercises, so that she won't have a problem moving her hand once the wound heals. For her next checkup, we are going on a mobile clinic to her home town and we will see her there. Thank you all for your support and prayers! Photo of Zenash

Zenash had her first procedure with us! Dr. Tesfay, who specializes in plastic surgery, and Dr. Rick performed the operation together and corrected her wrist deformity by removing her burn contracture and giving her a flap and skin graft. She's recovering well and also has had a dressing change to keep things clean while it's healing. Please be praying that Zenash's recovery process will be quick and infection-free! Photo of Zenash
