What am I giving to?

CURE in Ethiopia

The picture above is of CURE in Ethiopia. The doctors, nurses, technicians, cooks, cleaners, and administrators of CURE Ethiopia are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical and spiritual care to people who, without CURE, couldn't find it and couldn't afford it, just like Gebyaw. To do that, we're inviting you to partner with us.

We need to raise approximately $2000 for every procedure we provide Gebyaw and kids like him. When you give a gift through Gebyaw's CUREkids profile, your contribution is designated to an exclusive country fund for CURE's work in Ethiopia, and those funds can only be used for operational expenses to treat patients in Ethiopia. Have more questions? Ask us.

Monthly Giving: Be a Hero!

When you partner with us monthly, we'll send you an email each month to introduce you to a different child who was helped because of your generosity. You can choose to follow their updates and send them get well messages. That means that each year, you're a part of helping 12 different children, beginning with Gebyaw. We call it being a CURE Hero!

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.

”I want to be a doctor someday so that I could heal people,” proclaims Gebyaw.

Gebyaw is a friendly young boy! He came with his father from the northern side of Ethiopia, seeking help for his leg problem. Gebyaw told us he used to walk normal and everything was fine, but seven years ago, he was done with his daily chores of looking after his families cows and he accidentally fell and hurt his leg. First he went to a traditional healer, but that did not work and instead, it got worse. So they went to a hospital around their village and the hospital told them they can not help Gebyaw either. After that, the family gave up on searching for healing for Gebyaw’s leg. But luckily, someone who had a treatment at CURE saw Gebyaw and told them to come to our hospital and they did! Gebyaw is in grade five and his favorite activity is playing soccer with his friends. He lives with his parents who are merchants and his five siblings, he has one brother and four sisters. Please join us welcoming this young man and follow along on his journey to healing!
