"I searched for him by phone and through towns, and prayed to God until I found him in the Afar region," Taregech, Mebratu's aunt tells us.

Mebratu ran away from his village and became lost after the death of his mother. He has two brothers and two sisters who now reside with Taregech in the capital. Mebratu's father, Hagos, is a farmer back in their home village in Northern Ethiopia. Taregech works as a cleaner for a manufacturing company and uses the income from that to provide for her family. A few years ago, Mebratu got an infection in his leg and was taken to a traditional healer. When the traditional healing did not help, Taregech took him to a famous church to receive blessing and pray for healing. After no results, Hagos, came to the capital and took his son back to their village to start farming like him. Without proper treatment, Mebratu's infection became chronic and began to spread. "My neighbor told me to not take him to a hospital for fear that Mebratu's leg would be amputated," says Taregech. "No one knew what was wrong with him," she continues. After long periods of medication and traditional methods without results, Taregech had the courage to try a hospital. When she told a new coworker Mebratu's story, they referred her to CURE Ethiopia, and Tagerech came here to register him. We are happy that God has guided them here and we look forward to Mebratu's healing! Please join us in praying for him!
