Sirgut and her mother, Yeftusera, came to CURE seeking help for Sirgut’s leg problem. Five years ago, Sirgut fell and broke her leg. She went to the hospital and received treatment, but ever since then, her left leg has remained shorter than her right one which affects her ability to walk. The good news is that she is here with us to solve that issue! Sirgut is a college student and she is studying Information Technology. She lives with her parents and her two siblings, her father is a driver and Yeftusera makes and sells enjera, an Ethiopian flat bread. Please join us in praying for Yeftusera’s surgery and healing!
Sirguit came back complaining of a pain on her tibia and it turns out she has a fracture. She got a healing cast today and will come back in two weeks to see if the cast did its job or not. If it did not heal she will have another operation, please keep her in your prayers!
Sirgut's operation was cancelled for today. Our doctors wanted to keep her on the frame for the next six weeks because her bone still needs more time to be strengthened for her to walk on them. We will see her in October, please keep her in your prayers!
Sirgut came back for her follow-up and she is doing very well! Her bone grew as expected and it is time to remove the frame. She will return in a couple of weeks for a frame removal, please keep her in your prayers!
Sirguit is feeling proud of her self today! Our doctors told her she did a very great job taking care of her frame and that she is a good example for the other kids who are learning to do the same thing with their frames. She is doing very well and we will see her again in five weeks!
Sirgut came back for follow-up sooner than expected, but everything is going well and she is still doing her exercises! Here she is resting her leg because the frame can get heavy for her sometimes. Keep up the great work Sirgut!
Sirgut came back for her follow-up, and she is doing well, walking solidly with her crutches, and her ankle is getting better! The doctors told her to continue walking and doing exercises to help her with her ankle. We will see her progress in four months when she returns for her follow-up!
We are so glad we get to see this beautiful smile today! Sirguit came in for her follow-up and she is doing good. The doctors are pleased and she is showing good progress except for some stiffness in her ankle. They showed her some exercises that will help give her more flexibility. Please pray that she will be diligent in keeping up with them!
Sirgut is doing great! She came in for her follow-up and everything looks good. The doctors say her leg is growing and she is so happy about it and so are we! We will see her in a couple of weeks for another follow-up.
Sirgut went home over the weekend and she will be back in a few days for a checkup. Please keep her in your prayers!
As usual, Sirguit had a beautiful smile for us! She got her shoe support and was supposed to go home tomorrow, unfortunately, the doctors decided to keep her for a couple more days, but she will be discharged soon!
Look at her! Even if she in pain sometimes, she always has a beautiful smile on her face to every one that passes by. It is almost time for Sirgut to go home, she is just waiting for her shoe support to be ready and then she will be discharged. We will miss her!
Sirgut was in a good mood today, she stayed in her bed for awhile and then she wheeled around the ward a bit! We read her a couple of get well messages and she is so thankful to have received them! Thank you everyone for making our girl happy!
Sirgut is doing great, as usual she is smiling and having a good time in the ward! We found her today in her bed doing an exercise to help her move her foot muscles. Thank you for your encouragement and support!
Sirgut's first operation went well! Her left tibia was cut and a extension was placed to encourage the bone to grow. It will be adjusted twice a day for a few weeks before she has any more work done. What a wonderful first start! Please continue to pray for her as she recovers!
