Takele is a sweet little boy who has been walking with supportive braces in his shoes for two years. He had a surgery to release tendons in the backs of both his feet at CURE two years ago, but the condition has triggered again. This causes him to walk on his tiptoes because he cannot straighten his feet down to the floor properly.
He has not been going to school for the past few years. He plays with his 2 sisters and 2 brothers, and simply stays on his parents farm in Sebeta, an hour from Addis Ababa.
Takele is back at CURE now and because he is older, they need to do surgery on just his right foot first. He will begin attending school again when his parents approve and his treatment has finished… We look forward to seeing God work!
Takele got his AFO today! Our AFO technician, Bayesa, was the one who fitted him and Takele was following every step and learning what was happening. He will continue his healing, we will see him in a couple of weeks for another check-up!
Takele was so cooperative while our physiotherapist Bayu removed his cast. He is doing well and the wound from his operation is healing too. He had an Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) measurement and we will see him next week for his fitting. Please keep him in your prayers!
Takele was doing very well and he got news today that he gets to go home! He will continue his healing from there and we will see him back in a month for his check-up. Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery!
Takele told us he has been wearing his AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis) properly for the past two months and he is ready for his operation! Today he is having a surgery on his right foot and a mold on his left one for his new AFO! Please keep him in your prayers!
Takele came back for his check-up and he is doing well! But he still needs another surgery on his left foot. He will continue to wear his AFO(Ankle Foot Orthosis) until this next surgery. We will see him in September when he returns for his operation, please keep him in your prayers!
Takele came in for a check up and Dr. Rick says he's doing great despite what the expression on his face conveys! We will see him back in clinic in six months time to remove his AFO brace, please continue to pray for good progress!
It was a pleasure to see Takele at his follow-up appointment today. He was re-casted and molded for a AFO that he'll get to try on in six weeks time at his next appointment with us! We think he's pretty happy with his progress!
Takele was discharged over the weekend. We're looking forward to his continued healing and seeing him next month for follow-up! Thank you for praying for him!
Takele came back for his follow-up, accompanied by his older sister, and the doctors said he's not been wearing the supporting brace properly, so he is walking on his tip toes and now needs another operation! Like they said before, they want to wait a while to do the operation, so they gave him an appointment for next year. Please pray for him!
Takele came in for his follow-up and he is doing great! The doctors say his foot is in a good condition and they told him to continue wearing the supporting shoe (bracce). If that didn't work they say they will do another surgery in two years. http://bit.ly/1mLCyyL
Takele came today to take a supporting shoe(brace), now he will wear it for four month and we will see him then.
